winter art events

Dear friends and art lovers,

It has been an extremely busy fall. My first solo show "Of Two Places" (at Beacon Gallery this past October) was very well received, and I was excited to see many of you there. We had several opportunities to engage in deep conversations about the art and the timely topic of immigration. Thanks to your support and sales of the show catalog, we were able to donate over $1,000 to BIJAN (an interfaith organization focused on providing bail and legal support to immigrants, accompanying immigrants to court hearings, and housing or reuniting people coming out of detention). If you would like a copy of the show catalog, please let me know and I will be happy to mail you one.

Rabbi Marc Baker of CJP wrote a review of the show that you can read here: Of Two Places review

next up: aqua art fair

3 of the pieces (pictured above and below) from "Of Two Places" will be heading down to the Aqua Art Fair in Miami. They'll be on display there December 4th-6th.

later this winter: the MFA

My giant Hanukkiah (menorah) will be at the Museum of Fine Arts lighting ceremony on December 18th, and on view in the main atrium until January 5th.

The lighting ceremony on 12/18 at 6:30 pm will include family festivities and sufganiyot (jelly donuts). Admission to the museum will be free from 4pm on.

This piece, Persist and Rise from Ashes, is intended to teach about the story of Hanukkah as well as to look to and amplify the voices of others in history who have carried the battle of freedom on their backs. I view art as a platform to express powerful ideas from myself and from others who feel marginalized, excluded, and vulnerable.
Thank you so much for all your support!

Best,
Caron Tabb
