Where Secure Employment Meets Clients Needs

A recent research report investigates the impacts of the NDIS funding model on disability support worker employment and the clients they assist. 

The report calls for Commonwealth Government-led collaboration between disability service providers, their employees and unions to implement actions that will improve NDIS clients’ satisfaction and safety, support worker employment security, and service provider viability.

State of the Disability Sector Report

NDS has released its State of the Disability Sector Report for 2019. While operating conditions might have improved, serious issues around pricing, sustainability, regulations and more continue to present great challenges for the sector.

NDS has proposed 12 actions in the report including more open employment opportunities and more job opportunities for people with disability.

NDIS Worker Orientation Module

The NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission has developed an online training module to assist NDIS workers to better support people with disability. 

The module helps workers understand the Quality and Safeguards Commission, worker's responsibilities under the code of conduct and their role in supporting people with disability to achieve their goals.
