Dear Service Researcher,

It's time for a new issue of the SERVSIG newsletter. In this issue, Charles Hofacker explains his path into the service research community, Lars Witell offers three perspectives to look at paper rejections, and in my interview series "A New Generation", I introduce you to Yukpal Shukla.

Additionally, I would like to remind you about next year's Frontiers in Services conference (deadline Nov 30th). In this context, Gabelli School of Business and SERVSIG are once again co-sponsoring a Travel Scholarship Program to enable researchers from developing countries to attend the Frontiers conference.

Further, the award session starts. We need you, our service community, to find the right recipients for the following awards.

Please think about, who you want to nominate for each award and mail it to the corresponding committee chair.

Finally, we want to draw your attention to the SERVSIG Best Dissertation Award 2019. If you just finished your dissertation, please consider applying. Also, if you know of a great doctoral student who deserves being recognized, please don't hesitate to nominate them. The deadline is December 15. We are looking forward to receiving your applications and nominations!

I hope you enjoy this issue!

All the best from Boston
