Hi <<First Name>>,

Another great month for the podcast! With deep dives in being a regenerative farmer in Europe, farmland investments in Canada and how Patagonia is shaping their investment strategy when it comes to regenerative ag and food.

Experiments: with the Investors who are part of our Patreon community we did our first Ask Me Anything (AMA) webinars, diving deeper into the sub sectors of regen ag and food, which was a lot of fun! Thanks for all who participated!

Best,
Koen

Is regen ORGANIC certification key for the future of agriculture?
Interview with Phil Graves of Tin Shed Ventures

Topic: In this podcast Phil Graves, managing the $75M investment fund of Patagonia, shares why they are focussing on Regenerative Organic Agriculture certification.

My thoughts:
Very interesting to learn how the ethical and sustainable clothing giant is moving into the regen food and ag space. I know we will have many debates in the future about certification and the need for more or less. I'm happy to hear your thoughts about the focus of Patagonia!

Stories from the field: Growing regen ag in Italy
Interview with Matteo Mazzola, expert regen farmer in Northern Italy

Topic: how does a young regen farmer end up buying a farm at the Lake Iseo? After working with some of the best regenerative farmers in the world?

My thoughts: Wide ranging interview where we dive deeper into Matteo's experiences and where he sees the sector going. I really liked this interview as we had the time to go a bit deeper into the large questions around agriculture, land use, diets and the role of farmers. Please let me know what you think!

Why a $250M Canadian farmland investor entered regen ag
Interview with Joelle Faulkner, president and CEO of Area One Farm

Topic: Area One Farm builds equity partnerships across Canada that enable farm operators to expand without the burden of fees, rent or interest payments. Over the last 7 years they have invested over 250M in 18 properties across Canada. We discuss why they recently made their first regenerative sustainable deal.

My thoughts: Finally more traditional farmland investors are moving into the regen ag space. We need more of this! Investing in/partnering with low input profitable regenerative farmers can really change the system! Exciting times.
