LEHS Weekly Informational Letter
November 25, 2019

Dear LEHS Community,
We all want things to be perfect and for bad things to never happen.  However, if we are truly wanting to grow and prepare kids for the future, things must be uncomfortable at times.  How well are our children prepared if they never experience uncomfortable times and learn to persevere through these times?  Don't miss these as great teaching moments.  Instead of searching for who to blame in these moments, search for the lesson in these moments.
Now, I would ask that instead of thinking about kids and children, think of yourself when reading this.  If I truly want to grow and be prepared for the future, things must be uncomfortable at times.  How well am I prepared for the future if I never have to persevere?

Sincerely,
Nate Smith
Principal

Braves Against Drugs
LEHS has kicked off our annual campaign for “Braves against Drugs.”  Students who enroll in this program every year receive a t-shirt, coupons from local fast food chains, a ticket in the drawing for the Coughlin Automotive Car Give-away, and they are also subject to random drug screenings.  Our goal with this program is to give students an out when faced with peer pressure related to drug use.  Students were given information last Wednesday during lunch to bring home for parent signatures.  Students must re-enroll every year and pay $5 to help offset the cost of their t-shirt.
