What have we been up to this week?

Oh, *|HTML:FNAME|*! I am so glad you are reading this. Are you in a festive mood yet? I have heard Kyhra tried to get a Santa Hat from Greed, but he’s been adamant in refusing her one so far!

Previously on ScourgeBringer: World 3. Lots of World 3. Sprinkled in were some announcements for Xbox and rethinking some Skills and Altar buffs.

Scourgebringer News

Now, this is a doozy! Get this, Scourgebringer now has its own lore! Thomas spent all of last week holed up working out a lot of things to give the world of the game some character! I have read through some of it already and I am quite enthralled by it, have a bite-sized teaser:

After two decades of The Scourge and the shutdown of global communications, the collective recollection of what Earth was previously almost vanished from people's memories. Simple things such as staring at the stars (now blocked by ash clouds) became fire camp stories for The Cursed. [...]
Most equipements used by The Clans date from The Old World since no infractures to build them exist anymore, nor is the scientific knowledge to repair them. Technology is either praised for its rarity and scavenged from ruins, or banished for being believed to be what caused The Scourge.

Florian meanwhile started working on the Boss of World 3. We are not quite ready to allow you to acquaint yourselves with it, so you’ll have to excuse us here. He’s also redone some Enemies for World 1, in part because we are transferring some of them to World 3 (Cookie Points if you can guess which ones).

Since we have already shown you how the setting for World 3 looks and some of the enemies you will encounter, we do think it is only fair if we, in lieu of showing you the boss outright, show you the grossest enemy attack yet:

What's next?

On the to-do list for this week, we see even more World 3 content, who’d’ve thunk!?
We are planning on finishing the Boss, as well as the AI for enemies in World 3 and we also want to start implementing the revamp / changes to skills and altars to make them more relevant, woohoo!
With the Lore now being a thing, I can continue with sooper secret stoof which is pretty cool and will come to a social outlet near you soon™!

News from the Beyond

Its been a relatively quiet week and we’re deeeeeep into World 3 development so I am sorry if this Newsletter is a little shorter than previous ones.

One last notable thing though, we will release NeuroVoider as part of a Bundle alongside Steredenn and Transcripted for an affordable price on Xbox One and Switch. All three games are great value, and even greater in this bundle! The bundle will drop on the 27th for Xbox and 28th for Switch, with Switch Preorders being open now!

How is our budget doing?

Every week, we update our production budget based on our initial budget and our ongoing revenues.

ScourgeBringer budget is counted in "months of subsistence" instead of money. We believe that it is a more understandable way to explain how budgets are constructed and consumed.

Our remaining budget is: 5.08 months (22.08 weeks)*

  • So far, we consumed -20.70 months (-90 weeks) from working of this project;
  • And we consumed -1.22 months (-5.30 weeks) from investing (e.g. buying hardware, paying for services...);
  • We also earned back +15.00 months (+65.21 weeks) from our ongoing revenues (e.g. NeuroVoider & Boo! Greedy Kid sales, contract work...).

Our initial budget for ScourgeBringer was 12 months when we started.

For a more detailed breakdown of our budget construction, you can refer to the first issue of this newsletter.
*1 week = 0.23 month (based on a 365-day year and a 7-day week)
