Three opportunities to make wreaths and seasonal decorations

  • The Green Gate cafe on Thursday 28 November 6-8 pm - book your free tickets here. 

  • The Mix (1A Cumberland Road) on Thursday 5 December 4-6 pm book your free tickets here. 

  • Greenway Orchard - join our Green Gym volunteers on Thursday 19 December 12-1.30pm - bring & share lunch, harvest your wreath greenery and make seasonal recycled decorations. Just turn up for this event.

    If possible bring along secateurs or scissors and any baubles you want to add.  Our big thanks to local Florists Abbi and Sewell who have so kindly donated greenery and bits and bobs, and to the Green Gate Cafe for hosting the first workshop.  

We can recommend the new lunch club @ The Mix!


We visited the new luncheon club which is on our doorstep and can thoroughly recommend the food and the company!  We hope to see many of our Plaistow friends and neighbours there. Just £4 for a massive meal and soooo tasty!
Kind-hearted hairdresser in Balaam Street

We know there is so much kindness happening in the community and sometimes it gets missed.  Please do pass the word for this initiative by Phil with free haircuts for Pensioners and homeless people on the first Tuesday of the month.  10 free haircuts on offer, first come first served. At least 25 people have volunteered over the past year  in the management of a beautiful small corner in Plaistow South - the Greenway Community Orchard.  We hope to have caught you all on camera. Thanks for your help. The work continues and you are most welcome to help on any Thursday.  PSBL is currently running the Green Gym.  Here's the photo gallery.
Free Christmas Day dinner and company for elderly and those alone

The 30th of November is a very busy day for our local area. A Food Festival @Ratbone Market and a Craft market @Denmark Arms Pub on the same day, close enough to each other to visit both of them. If you are interested in trading at any of these markets please contact the organizers.
