USANA Kids Eat
I'm excited to share that next month we're opening the doors to the brand new USANA Kids Eat food packing center.
Located next to USANA's corporate offices in Salt Lake City, the center promises to make a big impact within our community.
For those who haven't heard, several months ago the USANA Foundation acquired two local charities to help in its mission to feed hungry children — worldwide and in our own backyard.
USANA Kids Eat is a USANA Foundation initiative that strives to eliminate childhood hunger in Utah by providing food to at-risk youth. Already, the community's come together to pack food for kids to take home with them on weekends and holiday breaks.
And now, with the opening of the new facility in mid-December, we'll have a dedicated spot to better serve children in need.
Last week, USANA Kids Eat earned Mountain America Credit Union's "Pass it Along" recognition, which recognizes local nonprofits making a significant impact in the community.
I encourage you to read this What's Up, USANA? article to learn more about the USANA Kids Eat program. Keep an eye on my social media for photos and videos from the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
A Special Gift
This time of year is always special for me. It's a time to reflect on what's truly important in our lives, to give thanks and to express our gratitude.
I visited China last week to attend meetings and celebrate achievements. It proved to be an outstanding event.
One particular moment, however, stood out.
Recently, one of our top business leaders there tragically passed away. Zhang Chi was a passionate supporter of the USANA Foundation and Dr. Wentz's vision. His parents sought a way to give back in Zhang's memory.
On stage, in front of a sold-out crowd, the family generously contributed $800,000 USD from Zhang's business to establish a fund in his name. The donation will have a dramatic impact on countless lives.
I'm humbled and honored that the family chose the USANA Foundation to be a steward for carrying on Zhang's legacy. Thank you.
