The Beckman Bites Podcast will delve into the research and career interests of Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation awardees. It will include interviews with Beckman Young Investigator awardees, Arnold O. Beckman Postdoctoral Fellows, and Beckman Scholars who each share about their personal research experiences and offer career advice. The first episode of the Beckman Bites Podcast features 2013 Beckman Young Investigator Professor Aaron Hoskins interviewed by 2017 Beckman Scholar Zoheb Hirani.
The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation Is Excited to Announce We Have Expanded Our Team!
The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation is excited to announce we have hired two new employees to join our team. Please give a warm welcome to our new Office Administrator and Programs Assistant, Esther Devanney, who joined our team November 21st. Originally from Australia, Esther has a degree in Psychology from Oklahoma City University, and she recently moved from Oklahoma to California. She has worked for several years as the office coordinator and research assistant with the FAA Human Factors team in Oklahoma, as well as organizing the student summer camps and conferences at her school.
Our new Program Administrator, Elizabeth Koppe, joined our team on December 2nd. She is a recent graduate in Philosophy and Psychology/Social Behavior from UCI. For the past few years, she has been managing a program at UCI, Deconstructing Diversity, that brings local high school student groups together with UCI undergraduates and faculty to discuss issues around inclusion and diversity. She has also been both a student and program manager for the Olive Tree Initiative that supports student groups engaged in international missions.
Three Beckman Young Investigators Receive Packard Fellowship
Beckman Young Investigators Ashleigh Theberge, Jose Rodriguez, and Wesley Legant were among 22 recipients of the 2019 Packard Fellowships in Science and Engineering recently announced by the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.
