December 20 is Go Caroling Day! Get yourself ready to experience the joy of community singing! Attend a Fear of Singing Breakthrough Full-day workshop/retreat and discover your inner singing voice!
Make a new Holiday tradition! Monadnock Music has orchestrated a Holiday House Tour like no other. This event is a perfect way to kick off the Holiday Spirit and bring the whole family to partake the New England traditions. Each home will welcome guests to view their traditional family holiday decorations, listen to live holiday classics played by the talented musicians of Monadnock Music and nibble on the festive hot drinks and cookies provided by each host. Visitors can stroll to each house at their own pace, at their desired sequence, no need to follow a group!
Do not delay, the Holidays are coming fast and the number of tickets are limited!Cost for the whole experience is $15 per person or $40 for a family (children 10 and under $5), Free to all Vets. Come to Peterborough for two days of holiday lights and good cheer! Peterborough’s Hometown Holiday features the Holiday Trees Festival, the Lantern Parade, and the Town Tree Lighting. Visit us in Bass Hall for homemade cookies and warm cups of cocoa as we celebrate this magical time of the year.
On Saturday, December 7, the festivities begin with the Holiday Trees in Peterborough opening at 10 a.m. (if you don’t get a chance to see the Holiday Trees on Saturday, the festival continues on Sunday). At 4pm enjoy a free performance of The Messiah at the Peterborough Unitarian Church. Bass Hall at the Monadnock Center will be open from 5 to 7 p.m. with homemade cookies and cocoa to warm you before and after the Lantern Parade and Town Tree Lighting at 5:45.
Windborne, known for their powerful vocal harmony and stunning original arrangements, presents songs of the season along with their diverse repertoire of music from around the world in this can’t-miss concert. Windborne has collected and studied polyphonic vocal music for over 15 years from traditional singing masters and cultures around the world. Windborne is able to shift from radically different genres like no band you have ever heard. Lynn Mahoney Rowan, Will Thomas Rowan, Lauren Breunig, and Jeremy Carter-Gordon share a vibrant energy onstage – their connection to each other and to the music clearly evident. They educate as they entertain, telling stories about the music and explaining the characteristics and stylistic elements of the traditions in which they sing. Join us on Friday, December 6, 2019, 7:30 PM at the Nelson Town Hall for a concert of seasonal music. Admission is $18/$15(seniors, students, advance).
For over a decade, Project Shakespeare’s annual holiday production has featured a captivating cast of students (ages 10 & up) telling Scrooge’s tale of greed and redemption in song, dance & masterful story-telling that best defines the spirit of the holiday season! New this year, some of the performances will feature three amazing performers (all former PS students) portraying over 30 characters in song, dance & frolicking story-telling.
This year Project Shakespeare will perform its production of A Christmas Carol in a wide variety of venues. Want to see A Christmas Carol while enjoying a weekend brunch or a sumptuous holiday dinner? Performances will be December 13 - 23. See the dates to pick your date, venue and even a meal!
Join the Keene Jazz Orchestra, founded by Scott Mullett, to celebrate the Holiday season with an authentic big band dance. The featured singer will be Becca Wilber who last sang with the band at the dance in March 2018. Dancers of all ages are welcome to come out for the rare opportunity to dance to a full Swing Orchestra. Music fans of all ages are welcome to dance and be merry in the company of a live Swing Orchestra. Bar service is available.
