What a whirlwind the past week has been! Prepping on Wednesday for Thanksgiving on Thursday...catching the deals on Black Friday...and then again yesterday for Cyber Monday. It's been a week of consumption, from food to presents to that new carpet you've been eyeing on Amazon that finally went on sale. I'm not sure about you, but my brain and my body are ready to take a BREAK!
As you wait for your oodles of Amazon packages to arrive, we at Leap of Joy would like to ask you to consider one more holiday expenditure: Giving Tuesday.
Today is the day; millions of people around the world join together to give back to their communities. We are united by one goal, to help those less fortunate this holiday season.

We're Getting Close to Our Goal!

We're almost there! So far, our Caps & Mittens campaign has managed to raise $1300! Will you please consider helping us reach our goal of $1800?
Every year, Leap of Joy tries to raise enough to help our students stay warm over the winter. We take the funds and turn it into gift bags full of caps, mittens, warm socks, scarves, and little toys and candy canes which we pass out to our students in the schools.
Many of these children come from low income families who may not have the means to provide these winter essentials to their children.
Please consider donating toward this worthy cause. We would love to be able to brighten as many children's holiday season as we possibly can!

A Note from the Director
Temperature is dropping. Imagine if you were that child who has no defense against the cold. These are many of our Leap of Joy kids - deprived of the niceties and in need of necessities. They are the children who live here.
This is Austin but few are aware that 26% of our children live at or below the poverty line and they live in the pockets of poverty scattered all around Austin (but never West of Mopac) primarily in the north and east. There are children of immigrants and many are born here. We bring joy to these kids through dance and theater. These gift bags are guaranteed to put a smile on their face. Happy Holidays to all.
