Recommending Books on Overdrive

Just like in the library, on Overdrive you can recommend books that you want us to get, but instead of the physical paper copy it’s an audio or e-book.

To get into our East Grand Forks Overdrive you can either download the Overdrive app on your phone or google egfmn.overdrive.com. Once you are signed in you can browse through our books, or search for a book if you have one in mind. If the library doesn’t have the book you are looking for, underneath where it says “We couldn’t find any matches for…” There will be a heading that says “Didn’t find what you’re looking for?” Here there will be a list of books and audio books that aren’t in the collection, but match your search. To recommend a book, just click the Recommend button beneath the book.

When you recommend a book and the library decides to make it part of our collection, it will be automatically checked out to you, and you will be notified. Enjoy reading!

Staff Book Review

The Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi

Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days. The last time she did she never meant to hurt anyone, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder anyway. Juliette was born with a lethal touch, and no one knows why. No one seems to care, as long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else. The world is crumbling to pieces and no one has enough time to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Disease runs wild, food is scarce, birds don’t fly anymore, and people don’t travel. But maybe Juliette isn’t just a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what the world needs. Juliette has a choice to make. Be a weapon or be a warrior. (Summary from Goodreads.com)

Acacia says: “The Shatter Me Series is definitely one of my all-time favorites. The action and adventure never stop. I couldn’t put it down! I just finished the fourth book and I’m already absolutely loving the fifth. The series is incredibly interesting with so many twists and turns that it never gets boring.”

This book is on order - call the library to place a hold.

Photos From Around the Library
The library wants to recognize Carol Bushy of East Grand Forks for her extraordinary commitment to the library as she officially "retires" this month. She has been volunteering at Campbell Library since the current location opened in 2001. Carol has volunteered an average of 6 hours per week here as a Shelf Reader - someone who carefully reads each call number to make sure that the books are perfectly shelved and therefore able to be found when a patron wants them. Throughout her years Carol has time and time again made sure each section of the library was shelf read, and Library Director, Charlotte Helgeson and the staff are grateful for Carol's years of assisting with this important job.

Thank you Carol for your dedication to making the library's books accessible to all!
Adults with disabilities enjoyed making spooky art at the library with guest artist Therese Jacobson earlier this month.
