Happy Thanksgiving!  The church office will be closed this
Thursday and Friday, November 28th & 29th.
This December, Pastor Neal will be reprising an old favorite -- the Christmas story told from the perspectives of the Donkey, the Sheep, and the Cow who watched over Jesus at his birth:
December  1 - "A Donkey's Tale"
December 8 - "Sheepish Ramifications"
December 15 - "O Night Bovine"
Help us get our church ready for the Holidays!  We'll decorate the Sanctuary, Chapel, and Robert Young Centre in between the worship services (10:00am) on Sunday, December 1st.
Beginning on Sunday, December 1st, the 11:00am service will resume worshipping in the Sanctuary.  We do ask your patience, however, as we are not completely finished with some planned updates, like re-carpeting the floor and re-upholstering the pews. If you'd like to help us with either of these projects, please let us know!
Thank you to everyone who took an angel from our Angel Tree mission project!  The next step is to wrap the gifts (see announcement below) and deliver them to the children at Project Vida.  The delivery event will be on Wednesday, December 11th at 5:30pm at the Project Vida Headquarters building, which is located at 3607 Rivera Ave, El Paso, TX 79905.
Come enjoy appetizers and a glass of wine while we wrap the Angel Tree gifts on Saturday, Dec 7, 3-7pm, in the Robert Young Center. Child care provided - please let Patty know in the front office, 533-7551, if you plan to attend and need child care. This is a come and go event - don’t worry if you can’t stay the entire afternoon.  Needed:  If you can, please bring wrapping paper and scissors!
Our preschool is hosting a Christmas book fair to allow families and friends to purchase books for their families or as gifts for others. Usborne Books offers over 2,000 books in their current catalog to choose from, meaning there is something for everyone (including Spanish language books, Christmas themed books, and more). 50% of proceeds will go to the preschool to build its library. All orders will ship directly to you as soon as they are processed and are guaranteed by Christmas. Please shop online by visiting www.LaurensBookNook.com and contact Lauren Steinmann at 915-996-1473 or LaurensUBAM@gmail.com with any questions.
Please help support our Troop 2 Boys Scouts at their Pancake Breakfast fundraiser on Sunday, December 8 from 9am-12pm here at First Presbyterian Church in the Robert Young Center.  $5 gets you a plate of pancakes, bacon, juice and coffee. We hope to see you there!
Join us on for an evening of Christmas cheer and entertainment, put on by our FPC Children's choir, preschool and homeschool co-op students, Kids N Co Show Choir, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Zumba Fitness Team, and the El Paso Youth Jazz Ensemble.   Sunday, December 8th at 4pm in the Sanctuary.  Admission is free for all; please invite your friends and neighbors!
Kids N Co. would like to invite you to an Enchilada Dinner Fundraiser, Friday, December 20th from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. in the Robert Young Center.  This season's winter show, The Legend of the Poinsettia, will follow the dinner at 7:30. Pre-sale tickets to dinner and the show will be available for $8.00. Can't make it to the show that night? No worries, join us for dinner anyway or let us make you a pick-up plate for $5.00. Tickets are available for purchase with any cast member or contact us at (915) 821-2122.  Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you at dinner on December 20th.
The El Paso Youth Jazz Ensemble will hold their annual Christmas Concert in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church on Sunday, December 22 at 4:00 p.m.  Admission is free, although contributions are gladly accepted.  There will be a "Meet & Greet the Ensemble's Students" prior to the concert at 3:00 p.m. in the Robert Young Center.  Refreshments will be available for purchase.  EPYJE is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.
Gratitude is expressed for the life of church member Suzanne Maynard (11/23/19) and sympathy to her children and families.
Advent devotional guides from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary are now available.  You can use this excellent resource to guide your thoughts and prayers throughout the Holiday season.  They are free of charge, and you can pick one up from the information table in the Robert Young Center.
In the months of November, December, and January, members and friends of First Presbyterian Church are invited to renew their financial commitment to the church.  We do this through pledge cards, which can be found at the information table in the Robert Young Centre, or  dowloaded here.  Please fill out a pledge card and return to the church at your earliest convenience.  Through your gifts, we are able to reflect God's love in our ministry and in our community.

Pastor Neal recently preached a sermon series on Jesus' use of coins in the gospels to illustrated his teachings.  You can catch up on any you missed here: "The Widow's Mite" (11/10);    "Render Unto Caesar" (11/17);  "Fishy Money" (11/24)
