TOLERANCE
A FEW CHRISTMAS FACTS TO GET YOU IN THE MOOD
  • Many parts of the Christmas tree can actually be eaten, with the needles being a good source of Vitamin C.
  • Christmas trees usually grow for about 15 years before they’re sold.
  • According to the Guinness World Records, the tallest Christmas tree ever cut was a 221-foot Douglas fir that was displayed in 1950 at the Northgate Shopping Centre in Seattle, Washington.
  • Japanese people traditionally eat at KFC for Christmas dinner, thanks to a successful marketing campaign 40 years ago. KFC is so popular that customers must place their Christmas orders 2 months in advance.
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Hi Team,
I appreciate the time and effort staff put into writing reports and the Leadership Team will honour your effort through the editing process.
The pace will pick up a notch with the Music Finale Concert and Kindy Induction Evenings taking priority. Unfortunately, Perisse has had to take an extended period of leave and I know I speak for all staff in wishing her all the best and look forward to her return. Lorena will take responsibility for Kindy/Pre-primary permanently and in her absence Jen Meyer will continue relieving Perisse. Katie will be given some extra time to assist with the concerts and assemblies and Cailie and Cherrie will take on extra responsibilities. I have cancelled all external commitments and my 'not so happy' face will be on call (last resort for most as my Mother in Law is visiting this week so be very scared).
Operational priorities such as furniture allocation and the cleaning up of classrooms are important. A not so gentle reminder to make sure that personal resources belong at home and do not wait for the last week to have the annual classroom clean-up.
AHHHHHH
We have spent $54 000 on electricity and $58 000 on power up until November this year. Could all staff ensure we are all being as vigilant you are at your own home.
GIVE WRITE
Give Write is a local Western Australia Not for Profit organisation with a purpose to provide school stationery to give kids in need the tools to succeed. They take donations of new and pre-loved stationery to recycle, repackage and re-gift to families in WA experiencing financial difficulty
We have a couple of Give Write Bins located outside the Harbeck so if you get a chance to give it a plug with students and parents it would be appreciated.
ZIBA CAME ON A BOAT
A good friend of our family Liz Lofthouse won the WA Premier’s Book Award with her book Ziba Came on a Boat. Liz lost her battle with cancer last year and as a tribute to her work supporting an Orphanage in Myanmar we are selling copies of her book for $20. All proceeds will go to help fund the construct of a library at the orphanage.
So if you are looking for a gift to give at Christmas have a look at the book which is located in the Front Office.
Thanks, Dale
BLACK RALPH LAUREN SUNGLASSES
In my travels I have collected a pair of black sunglasses thinking they were mine (which are brown). Thanks, Lorena
SAER CC AND HANDOVER
A reminder that:
Thank you for the hard work on the plans and Handovers. Keep them coming in.
  1. Your final SAER CC’s should be in the pipeline; and
  2. 2019 for 2020 Handovers should be a part of these meetings.
A hard copy of 2019 for 2020 Handovers Forms will be put in your pigeon holes for other students and is also available on Google Drive: Mount Hawthorn File; SAER 2019 : SAER Handover-2019 for 2020.
Thanks, Louise
SECRET SANTA
Just a reminder to write your name on the list in the Staffroom by close of Friday, if you would like to take part. If we don’t have enough names we may have to give it a miss this year? Thanks, Julie B
