NEWS 2019 ADBI Annual Conference to Foster Fintech and Financial Inclusion
Senior central bank and financial officials, policy researchers, and industry experts convening in Tokyo for the 2019 ADBI Annual Conference on 28-29 November will examine the role of fintech in promoting financial services access and development in Asia, risks and regulatory priorities, and what it means for the future of the region’s economies and financial system. ADBI Dean: Growing Global Role for Think Tanks in Asia and the Pacific
ADBI Dean Naoyuki Yoshino said the region’s think tanks are increasingly driving global policy innovation in remarks at the 2019 Asia Pacific Think Tank Summit in Bangkok, hosted by UNESCAP and TTCSP, University of Pennsylvania. The proposals advanced under the Think20 (T20) process, led by ADBI in conjunction with Japan’s G20 presidency, set the stage for further breakthroughs in 2020, he explained.
ADBI-Indonesia Finance Ministry Forum Boosts Port Management
The ADBI-Indonesia Finance Ministry International Budget Forum in Jakarta explored ways to optimize government management of port facilities and service fees to support trade growth and budget sustainability. Policy solutions identified included promoting port partnerships and utilization of new technologies and data analytics to build governance and institutional capacity.
