Dear CUPEUer,
Here's how to figure out whether last week's pay is in line with the 2019 salary scale:
- Find your job grade and step.
- Log on to your MyConcordia account and go to: Employee Services > Staff Services > Annual Increase Information > June 2019*
* For most, this MyConcordia page likely doesn't reflect your current salary rate based on the latest CA, so disregard that amount. Simply note your grade and step, then proceed to #2.
- Find the value corresponding to your job's grade and step according to the June 2019 salary scale (at 2.4%).
- Divide that value by 26.** The result should be almost (by a few cents), if not, equal to the gross pay on your pay stub. This assumes you work full-time, at 70 hrs / week over last pay stub's two-week period.
**The number of pay periods for this salary year. It varies between 26 to 26.2 in other years.
- For part-timers, divide that value by 70 for your hourly rate. Multiply the hourly rate by the number of hours you worked in last pay stub's 2-week period to get your gross salary
If there's a significant difference between your calculation and last pay cheque's gross salary, there's an error in your pay cheque. Let us know if that's the case.
Thanks to everyone who's reached out so far, we appreciate your feedback and will keep you posted if we receive any updates from HR.
