We Are Thankful for You!
Thanksgiving is a time where we take a step back from our day-to-day routines and contemplate the people, places, and events that are truly special. Whether you're staying here in Aberdeen or traveling far beyond, take an extra moment to cherish your loves ones and enjoy a bounty of delectable dining at the dinner table! From all of us at City Hall, have a happy, safe, and blessed Thanksgiving.

Aberdeen City Hall will be closed on Thursday, November 28th, and Friday, November 29th, in obserrvance of Thanksgiving. Normal operations will resume on Monday, December 2nd.
A Lot Like Christmas
Though Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away, here in Aberdeen it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Today, City Staff have begun the construction of the 35ft Christmas Tree in Festival Park, which will be decorated and ready for its debut at the Tree Lighting Ceremony on December 7th after the parade (approximately 4PM)
Frito-Lay Tour
Did you know that your Aberdeen Frito-Lay plant now employs over 920 individuals? Members of the Aberdeen's Economic Development Commission had the opportunity to visit the Aberdeen Frito Lay production plant and warehouse last week to learn more about their facility operations and how they are bringing advanced manufacturing technology to our City. Special thanks to Mr. Robert Villani & Mrs. Kathy Alfano of Pepsico for making it a success!
Get Up and Move!
A recent World Health Organization (WHO) study for the first time documented the chronic lack of physical activity in adolescents.  More than 1.6 million children from 146 countries were surveyed with one result showing that in all but four countries girls were less active than boys. That gap was at 15% for the United States.  The WHO recommends adolescents do moderate or vigorous exercises for at least one hour every day to stay fit.  Come-on Aberdeen . . . kids and parents, get out, get moving and get fit.

APD Needs Your Help!
The Aberdeen Police Department is collecting non-perishable food items and new toys for their annual Holiday Toy and Food Drive. Drop off items to the Police Station (60 N Parke St) or to any uniformed officer. You have the ability to help make this holiday season a little better for those less fortunate in Aberdeen!
Extra Yard Waste Continues
After Thanksgiving, we will continue our additional yard waste collection on Fridays and Saturdays until December 22. Remember to have your yard waste at the curb by 5AM and inside paper bags or a special yard waste receptacle to ensure pickup. Yard waste in plastic bags or city-issued cans will not be picked up!
Business Spotlight: Protégé Nutrition
The Business Spotlight is shining brightly on Protégé Nutrition. Owner Terrell Boothe, Jr. has always been athletic with a passion for helping others. In August 2018, he opened his current location on Howard Street across from Festival Park and has since been changing lives one shake at a time. When he closes shop for the day, he transforms himself into an assistant high school football coach . . . his perpetual advocacy for children is inspiring. Visit Protégé Nutrition at 27 Howard Street Monday – Friday 7:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. and Saturday 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. Your taste buds will be glad you did!
