Thankful for an encouraging visit

One thing we love about the Thanksgiving season is that it calls us to reflect on all that the Lord has given us and done for us and to give thanks accordingly. While we have many things to be thankful for this season we are especially thankful for a visit from one of the pastors and his wife from our sending church in KC, Jim and Karen Chrisman. Our time together was great as they got to experience life with us here and provide some needed encouragement. In fact, we had so much fun that we forgot to get a picture with all of us together! Jim even got to go along with me to a training where he shared some really helpful devotionals for our group. Karen made a video from their trip that you can see by clicking either picture below.

Wrapping up 2019
As the year winds down so do our trainings for 2019. Over the last month or so we have finished this year's trainings with several groups and have one more week left with one of our groups in Cusco. 2020 looks like it will be an exciting year as we will have three groups graduate our three year program. This will total around 130 pastors, leaders, and future church planters. I will also be adding some really gifted Peruvian men to begin teaching with me next year. I am really excited about how the Lord is working to expand our team of teachers, particularly with men that we have developed through our trainings and mentoring.

Pastors, leaders, and future church planters from one of the biggest churches in Cusco. This group will graduate toward the end of next year.
A Happy Thanksgiving
The holidays can often be difficult when living overseas. Being away from family and friends can easily bring about moments of homesickness. However, we are especially thankful to have spent a really excellent Thanksgiving with some dear friends. We ate (a lot!), we laughed, and we just enjoyed some sweet fellowship together. We are so thankful to have friends to enjoy the holidays with.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership in the gospel
We cannot overstate how thankful we are for the ongoing prayer, love, encouragement, and sacrificial generosity that we receive from those who partner with us. It is because of the Lord's work through your faithfulness that we have the privilege of seeing Him do so many great things here in Peru. We are confident that each one of you will experience the same blessing that Paul wrote about to the church in Philippi: "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen." (Philippians 4:19-20)
Giving Tuesday/End of Year Giving
As many of you know, tomorrow is "Giving Tuesday" - a day designed to encourage generosity during this holiday season. Moreover, the end of the year is a great time to give special gifts to missionaries and ministries. Below are some missionaries and ministries that we hope you will consider giving to as this year comes to a close. Just click on the links below to learn more and give. If you would like to make a special gift to our ministry you can click the link at the bottom of the page.

Darwin and Annie Torres - Darwin is a Peruvian missionary who has planted churches in Costa Rica and Peru. He planted and currently pastors our local church here in Cusco. He also taught at a Bible college in Costa Rica. Darwin will begin teaching with me next year. Beyond that, Darwin and Annie are heavily involved in our church's church planting efforts in a rural community about an hour away. They are great friends of ours and we are thankful that the Lord has placed them in our life.

Entrusted Word Ministries - EWM serves missionaries and churches by providing biblical training, technological support, media services, research and development, financial structures, and logistics. They are of great service to us as we carryout the Lord's calling on our lives on the mission field.

Christian Communicators Worldwide - CCW serves believers and churches through producing gospel-centered literature, Bible intensive retreats, mentoring for leaders, and speaking at conferences. They have been a great resource and powerful influence in our ministry over the years.

Family Update

As mentioned above, we had a great time hosting Jim and Karen Chrisman during their recent visit. We also had a fun day celebrating Thanksgiving with friends in our home. Betsy continues to work hard homeschooling and opening our home to others. She is such a blessing to our family as well as to others. It's hard to believe, but Ellie only has a few weeks of school left. Nora loves helping Betsy in the kitchen. The boys are into all things sports, whether watching or playing, and Jill continues to show her own fun and spunky personality (she is a lot like her mom).
