New Newsletter Editor required

Hello

After a couple of years editing the newsletter, the time has come to hand it over.
Although I've enjoyed undertaking this on behalf of the Leicester Sketch Club, my day job, which entails working away from home, means that I can't devote the time I did.

I will do this December edition (reduced in content I'm afraid) and help a new editor with the January edition.
Unfortunately, if no-one comes forward then the January edition will be the last I'm afraid.
Contact me at grahampirt@me.com

Also, some Committee members will be standing down so we are looking for new volunteers. Nominations are invited for the following posts / responsibilities:
Club Secretary
Membership Secretary
Exhibitions Officer
Members’ workshop bookings

Come on and help the club!

SAD NEWS
We have received the sad news from Nanette Whiteway that one of our honorary members, Joan Roobottom, died on 11th November. Joan has been a prominent member of the Sketch Club and she kept her membership going – it’s good to know that she recently celebrated her 100th birthday. Condolences to her family and all who knew her.
OPPORTUNITIES

FROM URBAN SKETCHERS FACEBOOK PAGE
We have a big announcement, Emma Fitzpatrick will be stepping back from the admin and organisation duties for Urban Sketchers Leicester, to focus on her own work after being awarded a grant to develop her practice.

Emma founded the Leicester chapter of Urban Sketchers just over two years ago and alongside Austin Orwin developed it into the group it is today. The group is run entirely on a volunteer basis and I wouldn't want to guess at the countless hours she has spent promoting, organising events and making us feel such a community on Social Media. For those of you have attended the group you will have noticed/enjoyed the knowledge, enthusiasm and energy she has bought to events as well as her amazing drawings.

Emma has assured me that she would still like to join the group as a 'punter' drawing at events we host and I have a feeling we will see some really exciting work coming from the focused time she plans to spend.

I'm sure you will all want to thank Emma virtually and in-person but until then - Cheers Emma for everything you have done for Urban Sketchers Leicester
