Here's what's happening at McAlpine this week. 

Thursday - Math Matters - You do not want to miss this night! Free dinner for your family, reviewing and boosting math skills, and some teachers are offering homework passes and other rewards for those who attend. Details are below.

November 26th - Battle of the Books Round 2 Quiz date
November 27th - 29th - Thanksgiving Break

Don't miss Math Matters, a learning experience for studentss and parents to review mathematical concepts and strategies. Thirty minute sessions will bein at 6:00pm and each session will be repeated so parents can attend more tha one grade level.


For families who have RSVPed for dinner (no cost!), we will begin serving pizza at 5:00pm. If you have not sent in your green reservation sheet, you can reply online using the link below to let us know your family is coming. The video invitation below contains all the information you need to know about the evening;  including details about the free family dinner, childcare for ages 3 - k, visiting two student classrooms during the evening, and some parent homework!

Parent Homework
While you are the school for Math Matters, check out the murals in progress by McAlpine's after-school Mural Club. They will blow you away.
Students are encouraged to submit creative artwork, digital media, and/or writing piece for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Art & Writing Contest by Monday, December 2nd. Please submit work to Mrs. Layton (art) or Mrs. Preisach (writing and digital media). Click here for additional details.
Battle of the Books Club
  1. Are you a fourth or fifth grade student?
  2. Do you LOVE to read AND can read 15 chapters books in three months?
  3. Are you able to stay after school to prepare for the Battle of the Books Competition?
  4. Is Saturday, April 25, 2020 available on your calendar? (This is the Battle of Books Competition Day)
