The Halifax-Yarmouth News Service is a service produced by the Communications Office of the Archdiocese of Halifax-Yarmouth. It provides information, updates and pastoral activities  from the Archbishop, diocesan offices, parishes, affiliated groups and the universal Church.

Red Wednesday: November 20, 2019
The organization, Aid to the Church in Need, is promoting Red Wednesday on November 20, 2019. The aim of the day is to raise awareness for the estimated 327 million Christians in the world who are affected by religious persecution. On this day Catholics are invited to learn more about the plight of persecuted Christians and to pray on that day – as individuals, families, parishes and communities.

Diaconal Ordination of Rob Elford
The local Church of Halifax-Yarmouth will celebrate the ordination of Rob Elford to the diaconate this Friday, November 22, 2019. Archbishop Mancini will ordain Rob as a transitional deacon at Saint Mary’s Cathedral Basilica at 7:00pm. All are invited!

Mass for the Memorial of St. Clement I, Pope and Martyr
All are welcome to Saint Bede Catholic Community’s next Mass on Saturday November 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Agnes Church, 6903 Mumford Rd., Halifax. All Catholics may receive the Blessed Sacrament. The Holy Mass will be celebrated according to Divine Worship: The Missal, the Vatican’s new text for the celebration of Mass in Ordinariates around the world.
