Are you #PublicSchoolProud?
Take the Pledge for Public Schools

Public schools in the United States educate 50.8 million students, regardless of ability, race, wealth, language, religion or country of origin. To show our pride in public schools, and help advocate for the resources needed, LFA has launched the Pledge for Public Schools. We're urging all educators, parents and community members to go to www.publicschoolproud.org right now and add your voice to the thousands who have vowed to stand up for their students and schools. There has never been a more critical time to speak out for pubic education.

girl with construction hatDuring Public Schools Week 2020, to be held February 24-28, public school advocates will take these pledges to Capitol Hill and state capitals across the country to show lawmakers how many people are supporting our nation's public schools. We've already seen #PublicSchoolProud pop up in the presidential campaigns. But we need you --and your colleagues, friends and family members--to sign on immediately and show our strength.

Once you take the pledge, please share on social media using #PublicSchoolProud! We also have plenty of ideas for tweets, Facebook and Instagram posts, and other outreach in our social media toolkit.

If you're a teacher or school official, please download and print our 2020 Public Schools Week poster and hang it in your school entrance, classroom or office.

JOIN US as a supporter in 2020. Please fill out the form to be listed, and we will contact you with more information on how to participate.

REGISTER your events by using the event registration so we can show your commitment to public education.

ASK your state representative to sponsor a resolution to mark Public Schools Week 2020. A state resolution could be based off of this 2020 U.S. House of Representatives resolution, which will be introduced in February 2020.

Need more ideas? Here's a list of the top three things your school can do to join the celebration.

We look forward to celebrating with you! Please go to www.publicschoolsweek2020.org or e-mail info@learningfirst.org with any questions or to order materials.
