Did you know that dozens of species go extinct every single day?

Due to climate change, pollution, deforestation, and industrial expansion, the current extinction rate is between 1,000 and 10,000 times higher than the normal rate.

While these numbers are staggering, scientists have identified one key species that can do something about it: Homo sapiens.

You can directly support conservation efforts to save species that could otherwise go extinct, like the Ecuadorian Capuchin Monkey.
The Ecuadorian Capuchin (Cebus aequatorialis) has recently been named one of the world’s 25 most threatened primates.

The species is endemic to the Atlantic rainforests of Ecuador and Peru in a historically bountiful ecosystem. Regrettably, due to intrusion by industry and deforestation, less than 1% of their original habitat remains.

The Ecuadorian Capuchin is struggling to survive in the quickly changing landscape.

Will you help us secure a future for these unique monkeys?
Donate to protect Ecuadorian Capuchins
Rainforest Partnership is one of the only NGOs actively working to save them by:
  • Conducting research to establish a biological baseline for the species
  • Creating an action plan with government agencies and partners to institute strong protections for the primate
  • Building capacity of local people for conservation management through education and training
  • Strengthening protections in the Cerros de Amotape National Park where it lives
With your help, we can continue to fight for the Ecuadorian Capuchin and other species who are in danger of extinction.
