Wednesdays, weekly: Postcards Happy Hour with Mid-Ohio Indivisible, 5pm, The Phoenix Brewing Company, 131 N Diamond St, Mansfield. "We are helping Post-Cards to Voters with a 2 long term campaigns including Florida Vote By Mail and reminders to vote Straight Dem Ticket in Kentucky. We support additional Post Card Writing campaigns as they develop. We provide the Post Cards, addresses, and scripts. Ultra Fine point Sharpies work best, if you have them. We just need you! Donations for postage and post cards always welcome!"
Wednesday, 11/20: November Happy Hour, Postcard Writing, & Sign-making Party, 6-8pm, 711 Beautyview Court, Columbus. Three events in one! Happy hour and postcard/letter writing to traditionally underrepresented not-yet-registered Ohioans through Vote Forward. (We'll supply markers, envelopes, and letters. We just need you to help personalize and assemble the letters.) PLUS, we'll be making signs to hold at our "Honk for Impeachment" rally coming up the evening before the House votes on impeachment. Wednesday, 11/20: The Voice of Freedom: Civil Rights, 7-8pm, The United Church of Granville, 115 W Broadway, Granville. "The Voice of Freedom: Civil Rights introduces audiences to the operatic art form by celebrating African-American cultural history through song. Universal in its emotional and musical appeal, this unique production will highlight, gospel, jazz, and works from the Civil Rights Movement. The Voice of Freedom: Civil Rights aims to share the African-American experience with audiences of all ages, races, and religions. This show is an abridged version of The Journey: Civil Rights."

Thursday, 11/21: Thursday Action Group Sign Wave & Lunch: noon-2pm, corner of E.N. Broadway and High St., Clintonville. Here are the plans: "We will return to the corner(s) of E. N. Broadway and High St. for another mini-impeachment rally and sign-waving session. Weather predictions as of now call for a 50% chance of rain showers, but temperatures as high as 55 degrees. If it is raining when you arrive at noon, we’ll skip the sign-waving and head directly to the Cornerstone Deli, several blocks south of the E. N. Broadway/High intersection. At the Deli, we’ll meet for lunch, and to brainstorm topics and bullet points for possible letters to the editor, which will then be shared with all of our Indivisible friends to encourage letter-writing." All are welcome!

Thursday, 11/21: Third Thursday Film Showing: "Heroin(e)", 7-9pm, USWA Local 244 Union Hall, 350 Hudson Ave, Newark. Hosted by the Freedom School of Licking County. "This film highlights three women working to change the town’s narrative and break the devastating cycle of drug abuse one person at a time. Fire Chief Jan Rader spends the majority of her days reviving those who have overdosed; Judge Patricia Keller presides over drug court, handing down empathy along with orders; and Necia Freeman of Brown Bag Ministry feeds meals and provides support to the women selling their bodies for drugs. As America’s opioid crisis threatens to tear communities apart, this documentary shows how the chain of compassion holds one town together."
Friday, 11/22: Impeachment Rally, 4-6pm, The Ohio Statehouse, Columbus. Hosted by OH12 and Indivisible OH15. All welcome and encouraged to attend! "Punctuate the end of the second week of impeachment hearings. Push forward to let the public and our Congress know we will not stand by and allow Trump's criminal treasonous actions. We will briefly recap the evidence and testimony that has been presented before we march to Senator Portman's office to deliver messages demanding Portman support country over party. If you want to go up to Portman's office please prepare your statement. We will follow with a picket parade around the statehouse."
Saturday, 11/30: Strip Down the Vote! 9-1:30pm, Big Room Bar, 1036 S Front St, Columbus. Hosted by Revolution Rosies. "Let your voice be heard! Democracy only works when we all get involved, so this year after you're done biting your tongue over Thanksgiving dinner head to big room bar for a revolutionary burlesque show. Register to vote, bring that friend that hasn't registered yet, update your information or find out how you can volunteer to help sign voters up for upcoming elections, all while catching a spectacular show! Your host Vivienne Vega and Betty LeRoux of Revolution Rosies will lead the night with tales of valiant women fighting for voting rights throughout history. Half a dozen+ performances, and then we top off the evening with award winning headliners Shrimp Cocktail & Devon Ayers! 18+ $5 at the door. 8:00 pm Doors, 9:00 pm Showtime."
Monday, 12/2: Cheshire Ohio Documentary Film Screening, 6-8pm, Ohio Beyond Coal, 131 N High St, Columbus. "Join us for a screening of Eve Morgenstern's documentary film Cheshire, Ohio. We will be joined by two guest speakers. Refreshments will be provided. More details to come! See the trailer here. 'This is coal country. In Cheshire, Ohio that went one step further when American Electric Power did a 20 million-dollar deal to buy the town after their coal plant begins emitting a blue-plume. But not all their residents were ready to move. A gun toting 83-year old for one. Now only a few residents remain and they continue their fight for their health, the environment and their home.'"
Tuesday, 12/3: Film Premiere of "Pushout: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools," 5 and 7pm, The Gateway Film Center, 1550 North High St, Columbus. "The Women's Fund of Central Ohio is proud to partner with Rise Sister Rise, National Coalition of 100 Black Women – Central Ohio Chapter, Columbus City Schools, and Gateway Film Center to premiere the first of several screenings in Columbus of “PUSHOUT: The Criminalization of Black Girls in Schools.” "PUSHOUT" exposes a new and alarming trend: African American girls are the fastest-growing population in the juvenile justice system and the only group of girls disproportionately experiencing harsh discipline at every educational level. The film also explores critical interventions that interrupt criminalization in schools, which includes the work and stories of Columbus-based leaders, Stephanie Patton, Principal of Columbus Preparatory School for Girls, and Judge Terri Jamison, Franklin County Court of Common Pleas Domestic Relations Division – Juvenile Branch. Monday, 12/9: Monthly Leadership and Action Leaders Meeting: Call Time Version, 6-8pm, 437 Piedmont Rd. Second Monday monthly meeting. Join us to discuss current and future plans and actions. Thursday, 12/19: How Courts Work & Their Importance with Indivisible Westerville, 7-9pm, Westerville Public Library, 126 S State St, Westerville. Join Indivisible Westerville & Indivisible OH12 for a presentation from the Ohio Fair Courts Alliance! Come to this presentation and learn about:
1. The structure of the Ohio court system, including state and federal courts;
2. How courts impact you individually and as a community;
3. Pros and cons of how judges are selected;
4. Why fair and impartial courts are important;
5. Challenges and opportunities facing Ohio’s judicial system, and
6. What the public can do to improve our courts.
