How many evangelical denominations does it take to reach every middle and high school student in the county?

Coaching Updates
New coaching situations from the fall are moving forward nicely...

Lynchburg is putting a team together on three different school campuses.  Pray for Nolvin as his teams continue to meet new students, plan and pull off training and outreaches for all three schools, God bear much fruit!

Crystal, a college student in Wilmington, NC , is in the process of seeing what God can do at the local high school (by prayer walking campus  and gathering a team).  Pray that God moves in the hearts of potential volunteers and pre-Christian high school students, as her walks by faith!

And one not quite so new... Leah and Bryce, in Detroit are trusting God for many of the parents and students to come and commit to join us in January, pray God moves many to come! Pray that interest in the ministry will translate into students attending our winter conference – Fastbreak, especially pray for the meeting Friday night December 6 for parents and students to hear more about the conference.

Campus Alliance
This past week I was able to attend an event called the Campus Alliance Summit.  There were over 200 leaders of denomination and high school para church ministries and their staff all in one place.

The idea is simple – there are more than 67,000 schools in the country and 2-3 times more than that local church congregations.  The prayer and the plan is to have each one of these local schools adopted – first to have someone responsible for praying for it and then to have someone who is willing to take the gospel of Jesus Christ to every student at that school.

Of the schools over 2000 in attendance there are nearly 80% that have been adopted – 13 % being prayed for and 67% with a visible campus presence at work there.  The first goal is to finish this part of the task – reduce the number of schools with more than 2,000 students not adopted, to zero this year.  In the next ten years we hope to have that be true of all schools!

It made my heart glad to see the top youth leaders from several denominations together talking about how they are all in to see this happen.  After they led a panel time, the high school focused ministry organization leaders came up and prayed for their denominational counterparts.

The denominations represented included: Southern Baptist, Church of God (both Anderson, IN and Cleveland, TN), Assembly of God, Wesleyans, Nazarenes, as well as members from several others.  The missionary leaders included the larger groups: FCA, Youth for Christ, Youth Alive, Cru and several regional ministries (see picture below).  Pray for the leaders as they figure out which campuses they can expand to.  Also, please pray for each of the ministries to bear much fruit and many lives will be changed forever!

Let me leave you with the commissioning prayer at the end of the Campus Summit:
Humbled and Excited!
