Events Celebrating Cowboy Christmas Planned at Chateau de Mores Interpretive Center
MEDORA, N.D. – The public is invited to celebrate Medora's Old Fashioned Cowboy Christmas Friday and Saturday, Dec. 7-8, at the Chateau de Mores State Historic Site, Medora. Held in conjunction with events in the Medora community, visitors can participate in a gingerbread house competition, enjoy an open house, and partake in an ethnic buffet. All event times are Mountain Time.
The Interpretive Center will host an open house from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday. Saturday’s open house includes children’s crafts and activities from 1-3 p.m. Gingerbread house competition voting for the people’s choice is from 9 am.-4 p.m., with awards presented at 4:30 p.m. Sunday’s open house features a Taste of Ethnic Christmas Buffet from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Prepared by Four Corners Café and Catering of Fairfield, the buffet offers foods from the Ukraine and Eastern Europe. Cost is $15 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12, with children under 6 free. Visitors can view gingerbread house entries from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
