(and fries cauliflower)
It's time. It's turkey time. I live for Thanksgiving, second only to Halloween, because of the food. And the family. But... the food.

My family has certain foods that have been passed down from generation to generation and I wait all year long to eat them. Fried cauliflower and stuffed celery being the staples. Sure, I'm an adult; I run a relatively successful small business; I play a mom on TV* - so I could, in theory, eat these delicacies any time I wanted. But that's what makes Thanksgiving so special. (Also, I'm too lazy to make these things just for myself.)

Anyway, this year, while I'm chopping the cauliflower and stuffing the celery I'm going to be thinking about how thankful I am for all of you: my clients.

Without you, I wouldn't be able to enjoy the fruits of my labor - for there would be no labor. HA! But seriously, without the most amazing clients I could possibly wish for I wouldn't be able to stop, appreciate, and celebrate a day to be thankful for. You make my design world possible and my cauliflower fried.**

* I don't play a mom on TV, but I do tell Charlie he can't watch TV an awful lot.
** I'm going to start writing Halmark cards.

A Whole New Look*

I'm a fan of wigs because sometimes you need a facelift without the scalpels. Ok, that analogy got away from me. What I'm trying to say is, I'm trying out a new look for my newsletter. Please, tell me what you think! I can design for you all day long, but when it comes to designing for myself... well, I really don't wanna.

* Were you a Disney kid? Do you have a Disney kid? Did you sing that headline like a Whole New World? Did you? You did, didn't you! (yeah, me too).
This week in design I was very hungry! www.JackHolders.com - If you happen to be in the San Jose area, stop in to Jack Holder's for some serious comfort food.

Holiday Schedule

The end of the year is always a cluster of things to do, places to go, people to see, and figuring out how to avoid ALL of it because you're a burrito.* That being said, here is my schedule for the Thanksgiving break.**

Friday, November 22: 8:00am - 12:00pm
(this starts Charlie's school holiday)

Saturday, November 23 - Sunday, November 24: Unavailable
I'm not working, but I thought you should know my mommy is coming in for Thanksgiving *squee*

Monday, November 25 - Wednesday, November 27: 8:00am - 12:00pm
I asked Charlie what he prefer my half-day schedule be for his break and he requested I only the first half of the day. So, if I'm slow responding after noon please take it up with management. He's 8 and he has opinions.

Thursday, November 28: Off.
For it is Fried Cauliflower Day!

Friday, November 29: OFF.
Recovering from fried cauliflower day.

Monday, December 2: Unavailable.
Sadly, I have to take my mom back to the airport. Something about "returning to work..." Whatever.

* I own this blanket and it is super cozy, FYI.
** I don't actually get a Thanksgiving break, but try telling that to Charlie.

On A Personal Note...

The house is still not done, but I have skulls and dinosaurs; you know, the important stuff.
After TWO months without a sink or dishwasher this was installed today.
A Thanksgiving Miracle!
