StepUp for CASA

Help raise awarness and funds for CASA of Sedgwick County by participating in a virtual step challenge! The agency has set a collective goal to take 1,000, 000 steps and raise $25,000 on December 3rd which is Nationally recognized as "Giving Tuesday" - an international day of charitable giving. In order to achieve this goal we need individual participants to pledge personal step and fundraising goals. #GivingTuesday is a day to give back to your community and therefore is a great day to create awareness for CASA! Advocate Spotlight

Scott Hannon

Scott is being featured as CASA’s advocate of the month for an array of reasons. Scott is always thorough when it comes to his case. He has built an impressive relationship with his kids and always visits them for lunch at their school. Scott is open and available for communication with all individuals involved in his case. Scott is consistent in attending Coffee with CASA and always has excellent additions to the conversations. We really appreciate Scott for being dependable and consistent and for his desire to help humanity. These are essential qualities that make an excellent CASA!

In order to remain certified, all advocates (unless preservice training was completed in 2019) must have 12 hours of CEU credit by 12/31/19. If you are unsure of where you stand with CEU's or you need assistance obtaining the required hours, please contact your SPC or Kim Gerstenkorn ASAP.

CASA Connection

Coffee with CASA will be every 1st, 3rd, and 5th Friday of the month from 9 AM – 10:30 AM at the following locations:

1st Friday: Sente Games and Refreshments - 132 E Douglas Ave
3rd Friday: Milkfloat - 535 W Douglas Ave #140
5th Friday: Watermark Books & Café - 4701 E Douglas Ave

There will be no Coffee with CASA 11/29

An evening gathering will take place every 3rd Thursday,
from 5:30 PM – 7 PM at Watermark Books & Café - 4701 E Douglas Ave

Wichita's NPR station KMUW saw CASA's call to action and reached out to Executive Director, Sandra Bradley, for an interview. The story is currently being featured on their website www.kmuw.org

Anyone interested in becoming a CASA volunteer should visit casaofsedgwickcounty.org to fill out an application.

Books (all ages)
Hygiene bags that contain shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, toothbrushes and toothpaste
Stuffed animals
Clothing items (younger kids)
Winter coats

If your CASA child is in need of any of these items please contact your Senior Peer Coordinator to arrange pick up.
