COOL a project in the Pools family.
Cool (Clil Open Online Learning) is developing a web3 service where a teacher can paste in text, select the language of the text, add graphics and video, create or attach language exercises/assignments and then automatically create an online webpage with all words linked to free dictionaries in +100 languages.
The teachers access to Clilstore will be simplified so the present database look will be replaced with easier/intuitive choices. The students access will likewise be simplified, e.g. the first step for a newcomer will be to select language and level thus avoiding having to browse through thousands of units in many languages.
All the COOL outcomes are free to use (Copyleft)

Ongoing improvements
The teams are now translating the Clilstore interfaces into the project languages, the image below is from a Danish browser where a user is looking at level B1 units in Spanish.
Clilstore now automatically changes its interface language to that of the browser used, e.g. Internet Explorer in Italian will result in the Clilstore interfaces in the Italian language (we are still in the process of translating). We are also translating the Interfaces into other languages like Lithuanian and Bulgarian.
The above screen shot shows the translation interface needed for Clilstore. In future we'll invite friends from other countries to assist with their languages:-)

From Liceo Vittorini
In September, after having hosted the international meeting with our partners, we held a course for 15 teachers in cooperation with ETI Malta. One of their teachers taught us how to improve our use of the Clilstore by producing interactive units and embedding web3 exercises created through some specific sites.
On 21st and 22nd November 2019, the three teachers in charge of the project, held a two-day workshop, 6 hours on the whole, for a small group of fellow colleagues who were trained in creating Clilstore units and web3 exercises.
Both courses, the English one by ETI Malta and the Italian one in November, have been quite successful. Our teachers have got very interested in the Clilstore and they have found Multidict particularly useful.
Two levels of tests have been made:
- The language specialist teachers have been testing the Clilstore units produced in Italian to check the level of quality.
- Tests on Clilstore lessons in English have been carried on in class.
The best units are shared with our colleagues so that a first feedback is provided. Cooperation and dissemination inside our school is the way to get more and more teachers involved and interested in the project, the task being to have a larger number of Clilstore units authors and users.
As an output Liceo Vittorini has published fourteen units about Art, Italy, literature, sport, science and Italian fashion. A choice of exemplary units will be soon ready for the partners to test.
The Liceo Vittorini headteacher, Dott.ssa Albalisa Azzariti, took part in a meeting held by Invalsi, the National Research Institute for Education, in Viterbo in November.
Here she met teachers, headteachers and researchers from all over Italy, working in all different kinds of schools. She had the opportunity to disseminate the Cool project and she got a lot of participants interested.
