Night Moves Bread opens the door of their Biddeford bakery in the Pepperell Mill every Friday, 12 to 5 p.m. and during the holiday season, Saturdays too. The scent is intoxicating and you'll be tempted by the selection of sourdough breads, all naturally leavened and slow fermented. The classic chocolate chip cookie is habit-forming.

It's First Friday and a lot of the action will be on Congress Street (see Lucky). Duck into Five Fifty-Five for a cocktail while you're in the neighborhood, and try the pumpkin eggnog. It'll warm you inside and out, with brandy, house spiced pumpkin cream liqueur and egg. Also take advantage of happy hour specials from 4:30 to 6:30, including $5 wine by the glass.

We adore the MECA Holiday Sale, because it's fun, festive and full of beautiful things by students, alumni, faculty and staff. Go for the huge selection of handcrafted jewelry, ceramics, textiles, prints and so much more. The Holiday Sale supports MECA’s education, outreach, and student programs, today 5:30 to 9 p.m., and tomorrow 10 am. to 5 p.m.
