Dear DOCF Affiliates, Friends, and Members
I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday with your family and friends. I’m sure that we share the same spirit of gratitude during this season. Some of our neighbors are not as fortunate. Deltas of Charlotte Foundation will partner with the Urban Ministry Center to provide shelter and food for ten homeless women during the winter months of January 2020 through March 2020. The Delta Center will be utilized as temporary shelter for one weekend a month for three months with the greater goal of offering a loving relationship between women experiencing homelessness and members of the Foundation. This “Giving Tuesday” we encourage you to donate to DOCF, as we launch this inaugural effort to bring our neighbors “closer to home” into the Delta Center. We cannot move the mountain of homelessness and despair, but we can carry away the stones of discomfort, if only for one night, for a few women.
Listed below is a wish list of donations needed to make this venture a reality. If you wish to donate the items, you can drop the items off at the DOCF table during chapter meeting or at the Delta Center the second Thursday of December at 6:00pm. Thanks for your support. Now more than ever, the collective efforts of the Foundation and our members are needed in our community.
