Tiny Art works in still life settings
Hi <<First Name>>

I'm just back from the NZAFA Summer Exhibition opening and was delighted to see so much wonderful art on offer. Well worth a visit if you're in Wellington over the summer. My favourites were three different flower paintings, all by different artists, but all in a similar subtle, elegant colour palette - I could have quite happily taken them all home!

It's been a frantic few weeks getting galleries fully stocked and ready for Christmas as well as getting all my pāteke in a line for the 2020 Art of Birding Challenge. I'm so delighted to have the challenges now released! More on this below...

Still life with roses
I know I'm not the only one struggling to get back into the creative zone after a busy year. I was reflecting on what worked in the past, and came up with my top 10 creative hacks that have helped. I've been working my way through the list and it's starting to kick in - maybe you'll find some handy ideas? And I'd love to hear your suggestions too.

The July page from the Zealandia 2020 calendar

The Zealandia Storyteller's labour of love is the yearly fundraising calendar - this year is better than ever and it has already gone into its second printing! Available for $19.90 from the Visitors Centre (no online sales sorry, but if you're out of town and would like one, do get in touch and I'll get one on your behalf).

Tūī and kākā artworks hanging at NZAFA

I pushed the boat out with framing for the NZAFA Summer Exhibition with both "From Whence Cometh Evil" and "Professor Polly" float-framed over a matching background. For the tūī, the background image is gothic, stormy clouds, and for the kākā, it's her special living-room wallpaper. I really love how these both came out - thanks to Chris at Edges Art + Framing!

TinyArt-works hanging on the wall at Edges
Edges Art + Framing in Havelock North have gone tiny for Christmas with their entire exhibition wall filled with my TinyArt pieces, small artworks by John Lancaster, and tiny framed photos by Chris Helliwell. (Photo by Chris Helliwell). The TinyArt-works are all made from quality upcycled printing and framing offcuts, including using UltraVue and Museum glass. Also available are some of my encaustic pieces and unframed prints.

  • My "TinyArt" pieces make ideal gifts - they're identical to full-sized framed prints, made from the same quality materials, but just... tiny! You can pick up your favourites at any of my stockists (see below).
  • If you're after fine-art prints, please get your orders in soon if you would like to take advantage of free shipping.
  • And if you can't decide, I have some special gift certificates that can be sent electronically or by mail. If I don't have the denomination you're after, please just get in touch as I can set them to any amount.
