Choir Performances

Val (Steve Godenir's wife) sings in the Coquitlam Chorale Choir.
We are doing a Christmas presentation, on 3 occasions:
  1. A little free taste of our whole program, this Sunday, Dec 8th - at 3 pm, in front of London Drugs, inside the Lougheed Mall!😃
  2. Full program - Friday, Dec. 13th, 7:30 pm, at the Eagle Ridge Bible Fellowship Church (1160 Lansdowne Dr, Coquitlam)
    Cost: $20 for adults, $10 for students (Children or University, Anyone who's a student of any kind)
  3. Same Full Program - Saturday, Dec. 14th, 2 pm, same place, same cost.
Both Full Programs feature accompanists of Marimba, Harp and Guitar, and Piano.
Come celebrate Christmas with us, by experiencing the beautiful sounds of festive music! Baking will be sold at intermission.

SIFD Holiday Dance Party

Thursday, December 12 @ 7 pm - 10:00 pm

Join Surrey folk dancers for their party! Bring finger-food to share and dress festive or wear an ethnic costume if you like. We dance to a prepared playlist created from SIFD dancers requests. Drop-in fee is $4. Your first time at SIFD is free. Event listing here.

New Year's Eve Dance Party

Location: Dale's house, 16479 - 92A Ave, Surrey
Time: 7pm to midnight, Dec 31, 2019
Bring snacks and beverages to share. Request dancing all evening!
There will be a break in which you can try Virtual Reality!

BIFD Community Performances/Teaching
  • Until further notice there will be no Saturday performance practices.  They will begin again when more performances are booked.  The 20 November performance is cancelled.

Introduction to Folk Dancing
  • Lori Larsen is doing a one-session introduction to folk dance class on Wednesday, December 18th from 10:00 - 11:30 AM at Confederation Community Centre.  Address is 4585 Albert Street.  To register, phone: Confed Centre at 604-294-1936.  Cost is $1.55. Another one-session class on Wednesday, January 15, 2020.

Location: Squalicum Yacht club, 2633 S. Harbor Loop Drive, Bellingham, WA 98225
Party starts at 7:30pm and runs to 10:00pm.  There is a $15 donation requested.

The Squalicum Yacht club is the smaller of the two Yacht Clubs side by side on S. Harbor Loop Drive. (South Harbor Loop Drive is connected in a circle with North Harbor Loop Drive.)

How to get there:

From the North, go South on I-5, take the Meridian Street Exit and turn right. From Meridian, take the 3rd right (2nd traffic light) onto Squalicum Way. Follow Squalicum Way and it will merge onto Roeder Street. Shortly thereafter, there will be signs for Squalicum Harbor and Coho Way. Take a right onto Coho Way. The very first possible right turn which is identified with a street sign "N. Harbor Loop Drive", take that right and at the end of that very short road you are in a parking lot. If you would turn left you will see the Squalicum Yacht Club in front of you.

From the South, you can take Holly Street through town to "F" Street. Turn left onto F street toward the water and across the train tracks to Roeder. Turn right onto Roeder Ave Continue on Roeder to Coho Way (City Mac Store) Turn Left onto Coho Way. The first possible right is "N. Harbor Loop Drive". Take that right and drive that short "road" to the end, and turn left into the parking Lot. The small building in front of you is the Squalicum Yacht Club.

6:30pm - Set-up - please arrive on-time to help
6:40-7:10 - Basic Steps Program
7:10-7:30 - Warm-up Dances
7:30-8:15 - Teaching/Review
8:15-8:30 - Break
8:30-9:20 - Programmed dances and live requests using the whiteboard, including some reviews as needed
9:20 - 9:30pm - Take-down - please stay to help
Some weeks extended to 10pm
