VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

                  Tupelo High School
                         Students

Often when we hear about special needs students, we think of what they need to receive - specialized services, extra attention, more assistance. But a group of special needs students from Tupelo High School proved that they have something to GIVE as well.

Itawamba Crossroads Ranch in Fulton was thrilled to have these students come for a visit. For those of you who do not know, Crossroads Ranch is in the process of building a village that will be home to special needs adults. Volunteers play a giant role in this endeavor, from construction of the houses down to the glazing of the pottery that is sold to bring in much-needed funds.

The staff members at Itawamba Crossroads Ranch recognize that everyone has abilities as well as a need to contribute in a meaningful way. It was only fitting, then, that the students from THS volunteered their time and talents to give back to the community by utilizing their creative skills. As with any volunteers, these students felt proud of their accomplishments and enjoyed being part of a project that helps others.

                       Way to go, THS!
