I would like to introduce you to Aaron Brown. Aaron is the webmaster for WTWS and she keeps our Facebook group up to date. She is great with everything tech.
Aaron is also a very versatile artist with a passion for painting on and in her Bible. Aaron will be our guest artist Jan 19th at the Legacy. Be sure to mark your calendar. You don't want to miss her demonstration.

Musings from a WTWS Board Member – Aaron Brown

Merry Christmas everyone!
I love the holiday season! The nativity is my favorite. All the unique versions from different countries and cultures with their great colors and textures. The nativity is also one of my favorite things to paint! Here is one of mine from the December 5, 1982 Church bulletin. I’m not sure how the wisemen found Baby Jesus following that smiling banana in the sky but thank goodness they did!!
I hope to see you all at our Christmas Party December 10th and again at our January meeting when I get to teach you painting on Bibles!
Love and Paint

Hi Everyone,

I hope that all of you had a wonderful and fun filled Thanksgiving. Now that we are all full and happy it is time to get to work PAINTING! We still have 6 weeks until the due date for WFWS45 artwork, plenty of time to get something finished if you haven't had a chance before now. All forms, money and jpegs are due to me no later then Jan.10. If you already have your artwork and forms completed, please send them to me as soon as possible. The prospectus can be found on the WTWS website, feel free to contact me should you have any questions.

I strongly encourage everyone to enter. We currently have 8 signature members and some that are just one exhibition away from gaining signature status! Below is a brief history of the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies taken from http://www.wfws.org.

"The Western Federation of Watercolor Societies was founded in 1974 by the New Mexico Watercolor Society through the foresight and work of Dr. David Gale (1915-1980). Today WFWS includes over 5000 artists in eleven societies. Our mission is to encourage and recognize artistic excellence and promote the visibility of watercolor in the West.
Our annual juried show is hosted each year by a different regional member society. We showcase works on paper created with a variety of water-based media. Membership in WFWS is automatic for any member of one of the eleven different regional societies. Signature membership may be awarded to any member whose work has been included in 3 WFWS Exhibitions."

WTWS has been a member of this auspicious organization since 1976 so let's keep up the tradition!
