MUSIC
Acoustic Jam
Facilitator:  Janet Lenore 
Date:  December 18 • 
 7:15 pm - 8:30 pm
Day & Time:  3rd Wednesday of each month
Description:  This is an open folky-60's pop song acoustic jam. Although this is a ukulele-centered jam, other acoustic instruments such as guitar, hand percussion, and other string-based instruments are welcome.  You could just sing too! The first half hour is devoted to easier songs and may include some basic instruction. Intermediate level after that.

Alameda Island Poets Workshop
Facilitators:  Cathy Dana and Marilyn Flower
Second Thursday of each month, 
December 12— 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Group members are also encouraged to volunteer to guide monthly meetings with any of the following:
  • free-writing exercises of 10-20 minutes with themes (and/or prompts) 
  • provide material/readings related to the creation and shaping of poetry (8 copies at most)
  • guide sessions where participants share poetry created/revised outside meetings (one-page maximum)
Free-write periods end with participants sharing their work with minimal feedback; or with specific feedback they request.

Description: Practice your drawing skills and study gesture poses with a nude model. Bring your own materials.
Cost: Members only: $80 per month (payable the first Tuesday of the month). Limited drop-in spaces; $20 per session.
Notes: All skill levels welcome. Space limited, so come early. Now in larger space.
