Dear friends,

We’re looking forward to seeing each and every one of you at our quarterly gathering on December 9th.

We hope this time together can bring greater closeness, community, and understanding as we roll up our sleeves and begin to do the necessary work for immigrant justice in 2020.

The Lane County Quarterly Gathering will be held on December 9th from 6p-8p at 1685 W 13th Ave Eugene, OR. During the gathering we’ll:

  • Celebrate the Chief Justice of Oregon joining our Circle of Protection by issuing an emergency rule prohibiting ICE arrests in courthouses.

  • Test out a new resource for how to discern if, when, and how to engage around “flashpoints” (often unpredictable moments when violence and injustice flare up in the media and public consciousness).

  • Look ahead to 2020, exploring how we can put our faith into action in the public sphere around federal policy relating to asylum-seekers and how we can counter white nationalism in the upcoming election year.

  • Continue to build our interfaith community during this holiday season.

We hope to see you on December 9th.

In solidarity,

Alaide, Ron & Sarah

PS. Will you be a pollinator? As we continue to weave our statewide movement community, we encourage you to join with others from your congregation at your home IMIrJ Quarterly Gathering. We also invite you to consider joining us at a Quarterly Gathering in another region of the state, connecting with and sharing stories and lessons from your context with IMIrJ leaders in other areas. If you’re planning to attend a gathering not in your home region, email us to let us know so we can coordinate!
