As an organization of activists and artists, Pachaysana believes that creating is a powerful form of resistance against unjust systems. Our work in community-building & art for social justice is imperative in times such as these, but so is finding other ways to support those affected by violence and injustice. In light of the October protests here in Ecuador-- as well as those currently taking place in the face of government repression in Chile and Bolivia-- we are reconsidering how else we can show solidarity with the communities we partner with.
In view of this reflection, we have opened a donation campaign to support those affected during the national strike, including members of our partner communities who have been injured or unjustly detained. On this day that celebrates generosity and community, we are asking that members of our Pachaysana family consider donating what you can in solidarity with those affected during this resistance & in support of healthy, collective recovery in its aftermath.
