Join the Global Generosity Movement

Started in 2012, Giving Tuesday is a global initiative to say thank you to the charities that support our communities, to encourage generosity and support positive change.

This Giving Tuesday, our aim is to raise $9,000 to fund a vital project for LGBTIQA+ Refugees and Asylum Seekers.

What's the Project?

There is an urgent need for inclusion training and education across service providers that are accessed by LGBTIQA+ refugees and asylum seekers.

Despite the best of intentions, LGBTIQA+ people are still placed in shared housing that is hostile and abusive, and are often unable to access LGBTIQA+ inclusive counselling because it is “too complicated” to find interpreters that are not considered a risk to confidentiality.

That’s why we want to develop training resources that can teach inclusive practice for services being used by LGBTIQA+ refugees and people seeking asylum.

These resources would be nationally available via an online platform, and completely free to access.

Where does the money go?

We’ve crunched the numbers, and the total cost of developing these resources over 12 months is $20,000.

That includes a project coordinator, consultants, website development and hosting, and content.

We've already managed to raise over $11,000 dollars, over half the funds we need, and have been truly touched by how many people have gotten on board and shown their support. We offer our heartfelt thanks, and hope you can now help us by donating, and helping us spread the word.
