Hi <<First Name>>,

When I sit down to write my newsletter I often don’t know whether there will be an overarching theme. It emerges as I write the articles.

This week the theme is one that’s very relevant to the time of year.

It’s all about making best use of your time.
In my newsletter this week:
  • Ask yourself this
  • What’s your Superpower?
  • Are you doubling up?
  • Sorry, I can’t come
Please do read on....

Ask yourself this...

This can be a hectic time of year.

And maybe you’re rushing around trying to get everything done.

Here’s a top tip for you.

Last week I had a session with my own coach.

(Yes, that’s right. I have a coach too! It’s common sense.

I believe in the value of coaching so OF COURSE I have my own coach.)

During our session she asked me this:

“What would make the biggest difference?”

It really made me stop and think.

Of all the things I could or should be doing, what would make the most difference?

I found it a really useful way to focus in on the tasks that really mattered.

And to eliminate some that didn’t.

Maybe you will too.

What’s your Superpower?

On Tuesday evenings I’m usually to be found on Twitter.

I participate in #SuccessHour - a conversation that’s held on Twitter.

Everyone who wants to join in just uses the same hashtag.

Last Tuesday I hosted the Tweetchat.

My topic was Superpowers.

If you’re not sure what a Superpower is, it's something you do really well that is effortless to you (but often really tough for others to do)

We had a great discussion about our Superpowers and how we use them in our businesses.

We also explored how we could make MORE use of them, to make our business more successful.

What’s your SuperPower?

And how can you use it to make YOUR business (even) more successful?

Are you doubling up?

The other day I was at a networking event where another business coach was giving a talk.

It was one of those occasions where everyone gets a chance to introduce themselves and make a Call to Action.

My first instinct was to play it small.

Partly I didn’t want to steal her limelight, but a small part of me also thought:

“Why would anyone be interested in me when she’s taking centre stage?”

When we meet a ‘double’ - someone who does what we do, it’s very tempting to feel as I did.

But remember, people buy people.

There’s room for everyone - and someone else's ideal client may well not be yours.

Luckily I reminded myself of this, stood up and made my Call to Action.

And guess what?

I had an immediate response - and have gained a new client as a result.

Sorry, I can’t come

Earlier this week one of my clients cancelled his coaching session.

He asked to defer it until after Christmas.

He had hired me to help him drive his business forward quickly.

Fortunately we had just had the conversation about priorities!

So my response was:

"Last week we identified your priorities as.....

Are these all under control?

If so then yes, let’s defer.

If not, let’s meet to get you back on track.”

He confirmed that all was well, and we rescheduled the session.

In my first article above I talked about the important of identifying what will make the most difference.

Sometimes this does mean you need to cancel stuff.

Don't be afraid to do so if it’s the right thing for you and your business.
