December 2019 Newsletter

Dear members,

As the holiday season comes upon us, I for one am grateful for a few things things: our super warm, super cozy, super gezellig boardroom; playing Christmas songs without judgement and of course, the December newsletter!

Last month the Study Trip Committee whisked a lucky group of 10 to the far-away city of Nuremberg, check out a small recap and artsy disposable photos below. The Activities Committee also chased away the upcoming winter blues with Disco Bowling where our members got to showcase their bowling skills. The committees and the board are busy preparing more events once we come back from break, so keep reading to see what's coming up soon!

Happy holidays on behalf of the 9th Board,

Azalea Roseli
President CS Ubuntu 2019 - 2020

Small Study Trip: Nuremberg

On a slightly drizzly Friday morning, CS Ubuntu headed out for the annual Small Study Trip, this year to the city of Nuremberg! Packed into one car and one (big) van, 10 members set off for a weekend starting with a cozy road trip.

We visited the Palace of Justice to learn more about the Nuremberg Trials and set foot inside the infamous Courtroom 600. Afterwards, the group split between the Documentation Centre Nazi Party Rally Grounds and the Germanisches Nationalmuseum to explore more about the city's past. We finished the evening by enjoying Nuremberg's wonderful Christmas vibes with glühwein and hot chocolate!

Disco Bowling

On the 28th of November the Activities Committee organised Disco Bowling! It was a fun filled two hours of strikes, splits, music, lightshows and beer. Two people got to spin the wheel of fortune and won shots for everyone in their lane!

Not everybody was lucky enough to get a strike, but we all had a good time cheering each other on!
