FRATELLO'S - ITALIAN COMFORT FOOD AT ITS BEST

When we decide to go out at the last minute, Fratello's in Sea Girt is usually our "go-to" restaurant. We love the venue; large bar and cozy booths inside and a delightful outdoor patio in the nice weather. The service is great and the food is some of the best around. We've tried Eggplant Rolletini everywhere

around the Shore and in our travels around the country and no one does it better than Fratello's. Other favorites include Rigatoni Baresi, rigatoni, garlic, olive oil, cannellini beans, sweet sausage and roasted peppers and Chicken Scarpariello, boneless chicken and sausage, sauteed with garlic and balsamic in a white wine reduction. We also love the Chicken Francaise and the Chicken Parm never disappoints. All meals come with complimentary bruschetta, bread, salad and pasta or potato and vegetables. Prices are very reasonable.

About 20 wines by the glass and a good full list with excellent values. There's a Franco Amoroso Barolo for $48, a Cappezzana Barco Reale "Super Tuscan" Carmignano for $38, a Luigi Righetti Amarone for $58 and a Livio Felluga Friuliano for $44.

This lovely, rich and flavorful blend of 74% Merlot, 21%

Cabernet, 5% Petit Verdot truly reminded us of a Pomerol, and indeed is made of a similar cepage. Alios takes its name from its sand silex and iron soils. From a small, steep vineyard deemed a ‘sanctuary terroir’ in the Entre-Deux-Mers, this is ample and generous on the palate with dark fruit flavors backed by a mineral core and well-integrated tannins. There are three basic types of tequila:

SILVER TEQUILA
Unaged & bottled immediately or aged less than 2 months in stainless steel or oak barrels.

REPOSADO TEQUILA
Aged a minimum of 2 months, but less than 1 year in oak barrels of any size.

AÑEJO TEQUILA
Aged a minimum of 1 year, but less than 3 years in small oak barrels.
