26th TAFISA World Congress Highlights Video
600 Participants, 78 Countries!

The Global Sport for All Movement came together in Tokyo, Japan, as the 26th TAFISA World Congress gathered 600 participants from 78 countries on 13-17 November, 2019, setting a new record for the event. 
Under the  theme "Sport for All Through Tradition and Innovation", the Congress engaged participants to share their experience and knowledge as well as discuss ideas on how to increase physical activity participation and better use sport as a tool for social change, building on existing resources but also finding new, innovative ways to reach these goals and tackle new challenges. | Read More...
A Unique Joint-Event!

The Congress featured a historic Joint-Event Day with the Smart Cities & Sport Summit, bringing both organisations' networks and stakeholders together on 14 November 2019. The sessions focused on the issues linked to physical inactivity within cities, innovation and partnerships - or how we can build the communities of tomorrow through Sport for All.
The Joint-Event Day was concluded with the launch of a Call for Action on Sport and Active Cities while TAFISA and the World Union of Olympic Cities sealed their future cooperation with the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding.

TAFISA Rewards the Champions of the Sport for All Movement

TAFISA celebrated the Global Sport for All Movement's champions and their contribution to the community during the Closing Ceremony of the 26th TAFISA World Congress in Tokyo, Japan, on 16 November 2019. Next TAFISA Event Hosts Approved At TAFISA General Assembly
In traditional Congress fashion, the TAFISA General Assembly took place on 15 November. TAFISA’s supreme decision-making body approved 43 applicants that became TAFISA members, reflecting on TAFISA's ongoing growth worldwide. In addition, two major decisions were made in connection – the Malaysia Sport for All Association (MASFA) and Kuching City, Sarawak will host the 1st TAFISA Asian Sport for All Games 2022, and the German Olympic Sport Confederation (DOSB) was confirmed as the host of the 28th TAFISA World Congress 2023 in Düsseldorf. The General Assembly also elected the Russian Olympic Committee to host the 8th TAFISA World Sport for All Games 2024 in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, while the 2nd TAFISA European Sport for All Games 2022 will be organised by the Italian Federation of Traditional Sports and Games (FIGEST) in Umbria, Italy. | Read More...
TAFISA and Saudi Sport for All Federation Sign MoU

On 15th November, during the 26th TAFISA World Congress in Tokyo Japan, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between TAFISA and the Sports for All Federation (SFA) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. As the driving force of Sport for All in Saudi Arabia, the Sports for All Federation is working towards creating more opportunities for all segments of society to increase sport and physical activity participation for all citizens. The signing ceremony took place with the Sports for All Federation Director Shaima Saleh Alhusseini, TAFISA President Ju-Ho Chang and TAFISA Secretary General Wolfgang Baumann. TAFISA is looking forward to a promising and long-standing partnership with the Sports for All Federation. TAFISA strongly believes that this collaboration will strengthen the Sport for All Movement in Saudi Arabia and Globally.

"Undo-kai" for an Active Congress

On 16 November, participants had a chance to walk the walk and be active as they experienced a typical Japanese "Undo-kai", a fun sporting event where teams play fun games in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere. As participants of all nationalities played and had fun together with Japanese children, sport and games connected people despite the language barrier, in the true spirit of Sport for All.
