Collection for Holiday Gifts for Davis & Lane Staff

At this time each year, the Davis and Lane parent communities show our appreciation for the hard work of the "behind the scenes" support staff at each school with a small gift. While not part of the classroom, the office staff, nurses, custodians, assistants, cafeteria workers, and crossing guard all assist in making our children's days run smoothly and successfully. During the winter holiday season and again at the end of the school year we give a small gift to each one of these staff members. Monetary contributions are being collected through our new Appreciation Fund this year. This fund provides money for these gifts, as well as other appreciation-related activities all year.

With the Appreciation Fund, you can either donate once for the entire year, or make smaller donations towards each initiative. For those donating for just this initiative, it is our hope that each family will make a donation of $5 per child for these staff gifts. This donation is separate from the teacher/assistant gifts collected by the Room Parents for staff that support specific classrooms.

When considering how much to donate to the Appreciation Fund for the entire year, remember that it covers funding for the following programs:
  • Holiday & End of Year Gifts for non-classroom support staff in December and June - $5/student.
  • Teacher Supply Reimbursements, which gives each teacher up to $125 towards reimbursement for supplies purchased out-of-pocket.
  • Teacher Appreciation Week - which provides special meals and gifts during TAW.
  • Hospitality Lunches - Four special lunches for teachers and staff throughout the year.

Donations can be made online or by sending in checks/cash to school with a donation form.

BEST/PTO is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and your donation is tax-deductible and eligible for employer matching gift programs. Contact your employer's Human Resources Department for a matching gift form.

Support BEST

We invite you to make a donation this school year to the BEST Appreciation Fund - you donate, and we fund activities all year! You can give to the Appreciation Fund at any time, but we hope you will consider doing it early so we can confidently plan activities for the year.

Donations to the Appreciation Fund will be appropriated throughout the year to fund programs that show appreciation to the teachers and staff at our schools. These include: funds for teachers supplies, holiday and end of year gifts for school support staff, hospitality and appreciation.
