  • Donate toys and clothes to local thrift stores or consignment shops
  • Donate furniture, home remodel items, and more to Habitat for Humanity ReStore
Recycle
  • Recycling policies vary from city to city within Black Hawk County. Review the recycling guidelines for your city and avoid “wish-cycling
  • Frying a turkey or tasty appetizers for the holidays? Used vegetable oil can be recycled (for free) at the Cedar Falls Transfer Station to be converted into biodiesel through Midwest Renewable Biofuels

  • The City of Cedar Falls accepts Styrofoam packaging that is clean and free of all food residue. Tape must be removed. Packing peanuts must be bagged. Styrofoam packing peanuts can also be saved for the next package you ship or donated to a local shipping store for reuse.
