Stories of Impact

Photo of a refugee program participant with the shape of a heart. image inside the heart in colour, everything outside the heart in black and white sketch lines.

"If I had not come to The 519, I would not have been able to pick up the pieces of my life. I wouldn’t have found my chosen family."

Read about Gloria's journey to rediscovering her life in Canada as an LGBTQ refugee claimant.

As we come to the end of the year, we are reflecting on the challenges we have faced and overcome, and the impact we have had on our communities through our programs, space, and advocacy initiatives. We want to thank all our program participants, donors, funders, supporters, volunteers, and staff for being part of our communities, and for being part of the impact we all wish to see in the world.

We are also thinking about the critical work that still needs to be done. LGBTQ2S communities’ needs are increasing, but funding for critical services is decreasing. With your support, we can fill the gap
