Christmas is Coming!
It is time to remember the bible story of how Jesus was born!
Or, to hear it clearly and joyfully told!
These are the ingredients:
A woman becoming a mother for the first time.
A man, her traveling companion and soon to be spouse.
And a just-born baby boy!
There is an inn and a keeper and sheep and shepherds….and angels…..and, eventually, magi!
You are invited to join in an impromptu “acting out” of the story during our Sunday morning worship on December 15.
Arrive at the church between 9:30 and 10:00 and you’ll have time for a cookie or something before you choose which character YOU would like to enact during the storytelling.
There will be insignia for you to choose and carry (or wear) that will show you have chosen to be a sheep or a shepherd or an angel or a magi. If you like, dress to support the character you want to be. As we tell the story, you will be cued when to come close to the manger – and when to speak together.
The story telling is from 10:00 – 11:00. We will all sing and pray and enjoy the pageant. And afterward….
SANTA will visit with treats for the children. This simple visit can also be a chance for a selfie or a quick one-on-one catch up with St. Nick.
And….to add to the fun!
The 2019 annual pageant on December 15 will include the Once in a Blue Moon Christmas Band/Orchestra! If you play an instrument and would like to join, please read more below the photo!
Christmas Eve is December 24.
PPUMC's candlelight service will be held at 7:00 in the evening.
This is an experiential service of incarnation. We celebrate Jesus among us, with earth and air and fire and water; wiith candles and songs and prayers.
And birthday cupcakes!
YOU ARE ESPECIALLY INVITED!
We would love to share moments of Christmas with you,
Pastor Chris Kliesen Wehrman
on behalf of PPUMC
