OIT Holiday Party

The Office of Information Technology wish you and your families a happy holiday. Thank you for joining us for the OIT Holiday Party on Wednesday, December 18th at Royce Hall. It was a chance to catch up with colleagues, make decorative cookies, enjoy a delicious lunch, and win a raffle! A special thank you to the organizers of the event Calena Ang, Karan Khanna, Emily Tchang, Mon Alejo, Eileen Chiao, Ashbinah Coney, and Davida Johnson for pulling a wonderful event together. Also thank you to Lisa Snyder and Cory Smith for bringing in the festive decorations.

Hayk Zakaryan

1. Where did work before you came to UCLA OIT? 
Hayk: Before UCLA OIT I worked at SAG-AFTRA developing and supporting their web applications including sagaftra.org and sagawards.org.
2. What project(s) at UCLA have you worked on that you are most proud of?
Hayk: It is hard to separate, I put maximum effort in any project I do. Here are a few of the projects that I’ve worked on individually and as a team member here at UCLA:  worldpolicycenter.org, isassociates.ucla.edu, brand.ucla.edu, oit.ucla.edu, jifresse.ucla.edu, UCLA Mobile App, ZAP App Platform, UCLA Health App
3. What’s your favorite aspect of your role at UCLA OIT and why? 
Hayk: Doing creative work is my favorite part and the fact that we have freedom to be creative makes things even better.
4. What was the most interesting thing you have learned this past year? 
Hayk: Being a father.
5. If you could learn anything what would that be? 
Hayk: Be fluent in Japanese, French and Spanish
  6. What's one 'fun fact' about you that not many people know?
Hayk: I can drink up to 7 cups of Armenian Coffee a day

NEWS BYTES

2019-2020 Winter Holiday Closure


UCLA will close for 12 days between Saturday, December 21, 2019, and Wednesday, January 1, 2020, and will reopen on Thursday, January 2, 2020. This period includes four University paid holidays (December 24, 25, and 31, 2019, and January 1, 2020). This year, four days (December 23, 26, 27, and 30, 2019) are not paid holidays.
