Autumn Trees, Centre of New Zealand, Nelson

"A frequent dog walking route takes me up a small hill where I can position myself about midway up the trunks of tall deciduous trees which both blocks out most of the sky and also reduces any confluence of parallel lines. Both these factors when combined with the gorgeous colours of autumnal leaves makes this image work better than if I was below or above the trees." Craig Potton

Craig's recent exhibition in Chengdu, China, was a wonderful success thanks to the brilliant organisational skills of Xander Burns and his team at the New Zealand Consulate. Many people came to see the exhibition - some travelling many hours to get there - to have the opportunity to meet with Craig.

We are excited to bring to you our summer Back Gallery installation which includes works from renowned New Zealand artists, Tony Lane and Denys Watkins. This is only the second time that these works, by two of New Zealand's great artists, will be available in Nelson.

Also in the summer installation we are lucky enough to include works from Josephine Cachemaille, Bronwynne Cornish, Michael Dell, Dick Frizzell, Max Gimblett, Michael Hight and Karl Maughan - each fantastic New Zealand artists in their own right.
