The Books Are Coming Back!

Dear Readers,

Thank you for your patience with the 2019 hiatus from writing. It has been a tough year with the loss of my Mom. Grief has been a surprising teacher and I have grown so much through the process. The very dark days when all of the books in my head left me are thankfully gone. Breaking my hand, mid-March, also squashed any hopes of writing for months.

Things started to look up in the second half of 2019. I truly appreciate the recent ‘kick in the pants’ from readers demanding to know when the fourth book in The Green Man Series will be available. I am grateful that you enjoy the series and are anxious for the next installment. The great news is that I am nearly finished with the fourth book in the series titled A New Leaf. The plan is to have a draft to beta readers before February 1st, 2020 -- Imbolc – the Gaelic traditional festival marking the beginning of spring. Once it’s edited, thanks to the magic of independent publishing, the book can be published by late spring.
Tides of Blue is clamoring to be written. I have been working on it slowly and simultaneously alongside A New Leaf. Plans are to have it completed and edited and to a traditional publisher by June 2020.

I can honestly say the books are back!

Upcoming projects: I will be collaborating with my son James with a new, cozy mystery series titled The Meadowood Garden Series. The new mystery series is loosely based on a local botanical garden. We are having a blast visiting the nearby gardens, planning characters, murders, red herrings, etc. We hope to have a draft available for the end of 2020 and to begin soliciting literary agents for the series.

Also, up on the writing boards is Memories of the Sea. This is a somewhat of a sequel, but really a stand-alone novel that will be spun from the short story created for the collaborative show with Jenny Davies-Reazor for The Palette & The Page in Elkton, MD in 2019. It’s based on the characters in Between Earth and Sea. So readers and fans of this book will enjoy greeting Kelsi and Ian again, but the book is through Kelsi’s eyes when she is an old woman. I am very excited to get working on this tale.

If the gods of fortune are with me, the next couple of years will take me to the shores of Italy for hands-on research for a gritty, folkloric based mermaid novel set in the Sardinia area. Keep your fingers crossed for me about this. I am already in love with the story!

Along with the books, keep an eye on the blog. Plans are in the works for some great interviews with Green Man artists.

Wishing you the most wonderful of holiday seasons and a fantastic 2020!
